This week, I’m taking part in one of my favourite summer past-times. I traveled to Fort Collins/Loveland Colorado to lead an event called PowerPlant.
I have worked with this missions experience known as PowerPlant in some capacity for most of the last six years. PowerPlant is a missions trip designed to engage students in church planting. Youth groups are paired to do ministry with a specific church planter for a whole week. 101 students and leaders are helping four young church plants in the area. These student groups are serious about serving; some drove for days or flew in from across the country to be a part of this.
This is an event that I attended as a high school senior, and it has greatly impacted the direction and perspective of my life. One of my best friends, Nate Ray, even planted a church because of this mission experience years ago.
If you want to learn more about the church plants we are working with in Fort Collins and Loveland, Colorado this week, look at this post from when I connected with them in April to plan for this event happening now. Here are some pictures of sites where ministry will be done, like sports camps, art camps, opportunities for evangelistic conversations, and much more (plus some baseball photos for fun).
More on this later. It’s a frantically busy week, so there’s always much to be done.
