There is a possibility about it. A sense of trails less traveled, a fresh path to tread, a wide panoramic view unfolding before your eyes. Brand new, yet something in it bears the slightest familiarity.
It bleeds an organic authenticity, a day that seems just a little brighter, a little more hopeful, a little more beautiful. Maybe for no reason. Or maybe for all the reasons. The soundtrack is just perfect, the cast complete with lead and supporting roles, the stage constructed with razor-sharp precision yet retaining an abstraction of natural outlays.
Things seem like they should be, a little closer to how they are meant to arrange.
“I have no good besides You.”
“You are my portion and my cup of blessing;
You hold my future.”
“The boundary lines have fallen for me in pleasant places;
indeed, I have a beautiful inheritance.”
“You reveal the path of life to me;
in Your presence is abundant joy;
in Your right hand are eternal pleasures.”
Here I should be satiated. All my contentment must rest in this. I have been provided for. And my allotment is just right.
“Lord, You are my portion.”
David’s sixteenth psalm.
