Summer of Progress: The Second Draft and Projects Galore

The past nine months have been a whirlwind of change. If you didn’t already know, I moved to Greenville, South Carolina. Driving 3,500 miles across the country was one of my favorite trips to date, and it’s been an incredibly amazing transition to make. (Read about it in more detail here.)

Not only have I continued to write here on my blog, but I also write for a few web publications, with over 1.8 million unique visitors annually. I never thought I’d be able to write for so many people so early in my life, especially helping so many people make progress in their faith and relationships and development.

Greenville is an amazing city, too! Kati and I love discovering the restaurants, local coffee, and enjoying lots of events around town with the great friends we’ve gotten to know better.

The Summer of Progress

What have you enjoyed this summer? I’ve loved the bright summer days, lots of hiking trips, a little backpacking, a week-long excursion in the wilderness of northern Minnesota, a friend’s wedding in California, sunsets and fireworks in the city, and visiting friends and family.

Since I’ve been spending time on all these commitments and writing projects, writing for my book has gotten less attention. However, I’ve gotten some more editing notes from friends (thanks, guys!), which I’m currently incorporating into the second draft!

Writing for other audiences and on different platforms has given me more ideas for how to make my book the best it can be. I know what the book should include more of, and I know what kind of writing and language it shouldn’t have.

Learning to do good work on a variety of projects helps us do great work on the big project we’re building.

I hope this summer’s turning into a productive one for you, too.

  1. Keep it up John. You put out quality content, can’t wait to read your book when it’s published.
